5 Favorite Simple Recipes I Tried and Loved in November


Hello, comfort food season!

Although most of the recipes below do not fall into the category of ‘traditional holiday dishes’, they do. to do gift a bowl of something cozy, a nice dip to contribute to a get-together (or a weekend afternoon at home!), and something sweet to fill the house with great smells. I hope you will enjoy browsing them!

Banana Chocolate Chip Bread (shown above)


This recipe was a hit with kids and adults alike! In my experience, you really can’t go wrong with banana bread.

I didn’t, but my neighbor brought it to me and it was divine. i plan to do this recipe from Ina Garten next month!

This recipe is like something you would see on a Taco Bell commercial the best way.

Tuna salad


This recipe was my attempt at making a homemade tuna salad that our nanny would cook when the kids were little and Joe and I both traveled often for work. Hers is better but since she didn’t have a recipe either, it’s the best I can do for you! I shared a link to a similar version of this front dish, corn this times I wrote my take on the recipe. Hope you enjoy!

Ingredients for the tuna salad:

3 cans of tuna
Two stalks of celery, chopped
Box of small shellfish or orecchiette pasta (but any type will do)
Green onions, sliced
Roasted almonds, sliced
Dried cherries
Small bunch of dill, chopped
Small bunch of parsley, chopped

Dressing ingredients:

A part of olive oil
A portion of mayo
Two tablespoons of Dijon mustard
Lemon squeezer
Salt and pepper

Instructions:

Cook the pasta al dente. While the pasta is cooking, toss the dressing ingredients together. When the pasta is finished cooking, rinse it with cold water and shake off the excess water. In a large bowl, toss the tuna and celery with the dressing. Add the pasta, garnish with ¾ of your green onions, herbs, cherries and almonds. Mix until all the ingredients are evenly distributed. Let sit in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to allow the flavors to blend. Garnish with the remaining ¼ green onions, herbs, cherries and almonds.
